About us
Let me introduce myself...

My name is Jan Poole and I set up Around London in 2008 to offer bespoke tours to my clients, ensuring they have the best experience both of London and for out of London day trips.

My mission is essentially to ensure you have fun; to surprise you!; that you may learn something new and that you leave with a smile on your face and a desire to return.

I have lived and worked in London all of my adult life and can help you explore some of the lesser-known treasures as well as our more famous landmarks. My background is in HR Management with a variety of organisations, however I have now become a full-time guide - an occupation which I love!

I can adapt my tours to suit your needs as a family, as a group or individually.  I fully appreciate the interests of children and teenagers - my two sons giving me first hand experience!  Having also worked in management for over 25 years I can pitch my tours to fit the requirements of your corporate events.

I am a regular guide at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, have a special interest in literature, the Elizabethan South Bank and Royalty.

I have some of the best guides in London working with me to ensure all your needs and interests can be fully met...

Did you know?...

The current St Paul's Cathedral is the fourth to occupy this site - its predecessor was destroyed in the Great Fire of London in 1666.  Designed by architect Sir Christopher Wren, it took from 1675 to 1710 to build.
